Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, we've been a pillar of faith and community since 1976: enriching Friday prayers, engaging educational classes, and vibrant community programs.
Our story
A community masjid in the heart of the Loop
The Downtown Islamic Center is home to Muslims who live, work and study downtown: a place for all five daily prayers and Jumu'ah, with classes, youth programs, sisters' programs and family events through the week.
DIC is the only masjid in the heart of Chicago, the third-largest city in the United States. Alhamdulillah, we have acquired the building next door, four times larger than our current home, to meet the needs of our growing local community and the thousands of Muslims who visit every year.
