The only masjid in the heart of the third-largest city in America
Downtown Islamic Center is the only masjid in the heart of Chicago. Alhamdulillah, we have acquired another building, four times larger than our current home. It is large enough to meet the needs of our rapidly growing local community, as well as the thousands of Muslims who visit every year.
For Phase 1 of the renovation, we are focusing on building out our prayer hall and wudu facilities. This is your opportunity to earn the reward of thousands of Muslims who will come to worship over the decades ahead. We estimate an additional $4 million is needed to complete it.
