What is the goal of this project?

Point 1: This project offers reflections on the Qur'an, not tafsir.

The Prophet ﷺ did not provide a tafsir of the entire Qur'an — he explained what the companions asked about and clarified the commandments. He did not explain, for example, the first two verses of Surah at-Tariq or the first verse of Surah an-Najm, because the Qur'an is for all people in all times. As new discoveries, technologies, and life experiences unfold, our understanding continues to deepen. This is why even great scholars who wrote reflections on the Qur'an are followed by others who bring new understandings shaped by their own times. What we are doing here is offering reflections on the Qur'an.

Point 2: As with any written work, including this project, mistakes are possible.

If you find one, please reach out and correct us. There is always a chance something is missed, or that we would later wish we had organized our thoughts differently. This is the nature of human writing — mistakes and revisions are inevitable, and new discoveries can lead to updated editions.

The Qur'an, after 1,500 years, has yet to contain a single mistake — nor will it ever, no matter how closely it is scrutinized. There is no verse that could be better placed elsewhere, and no word that could be improved by replacing it with another. Everything in the Qur'an is precise, down to the order of its verses and words. When we fail to perceive that precision, the shortcoming lies in our own understanding, because the words of Allah are beyond our full comprehension:

وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّه

No one can ever improve upon the Qur'an — not its verse order, its word choice, nor its meaning. Reflect on that each time you read it.
